He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation... - Colossians 1:15 Bayside Church of Christ in Virginia Beach, VA

Congregational Projects/Efforts

With the 2008 purpose focus being “Ministry,” there will be several collaborative efforts during the year to show our community the love of Christ. Below is a list of projects along with their corresponding time frame:

  • S.O.L. Snack Drive for Jacox Elementary School (April 8-27)
  • Food Drive for Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia (May 11-June 7)
The summer months are the most challenging for the Foodbank. The needs of those less fortunate do not take a vacation, but donations drop off dramatically in the months of June, July, and August.
Let’s address this problem and get the summer off to a great start by generously donating the following items:
[Week #1] May 11-17 Peanut Butter
    [Week #2] May 18-24 Macaroni & Cheese
[Week #3] May 25-31 Pasta & Pasta Sauces
[Week #4] June 1-7 Canned Soups & Meats

  • Supplemental School Supply Drive for Jacox Elementary School (July 30-August 24)
Located on Marshal Avenue in downtown Norfolk, Jaycox Elementary is a school that both needs and appreciates help from members of the community. Each year both parents and caring citizens purches/contribute much needed school supplies to the children of Jacox Elementary. However, there are many more items that are essential to the day to day operation of the school that can not be placed on the required supply list and that are not donated by other community outlets. This is where you come in; the Bayside family will be collecting supplies that will fill in the gaps.

  • Faith In Action Weekend (September 27)

He had broken his arm, and she had fashioned a sling with an old, stained pillowcase. When she found an arm sling still in the box, she burst into tears since she had no money to buy something so nice and so necessary at that point in their lives…
