Dress Code
In warm weather, we understand that there is a desire to keep cool and take a break from our winter wardrobes. However, we also value modesty in all situations. On that note, please respect the following guidelines when getting ready for an event(whether big or small) or packing for a youth trip. Parents, please help us out on this, by helping your student make sure that they are within the guidelines before you leave home.
Girls: Modest shirts. No halters or low cut tops with out an undershirt. If sleeveless, the band/straps should be more than one-inch wide and with no bra straps showing. When you raise your arms you shouldn’t be able to see your stomach. When you bend down, you shouldn’t be able to see your underwear.
Guys: Shirts – No wife-beaters or undershirts, cut-off’s, or tanks with the wide-open armholes. When you raise your arms you shouldn’t be able to see your stomach. When you bend down, you shouldn’t be able to see your underwear.
Shorts: Girls and guys are expected to wear long shorts to follow Bayside’s dress code. We recognize that it’s difficult for some girls to find longer shorts. So, here’s the compromise: Shorts must be modest and come at least to mid thigh. We should not be able to see your underwear at any time—from the top or the bottom.
Note: The Parent Leadership Team reserves the right to enforce these guidelines and extend that responsibility to chaperones. Appropriate attire will be provided at our discretion.
