2018 Bayside Involvement Survey Item Explanation
Ephesians 6:7 - "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people." (NIV)
Some of the items on the Involvement Survey need further explanation before one could indicate an interest. The numbers/explanations below correspond to the numbers on the survey. Some items are self-explanatory and are therefore not elaborated upon. Again, ministry leaders will explain specific details pertaining to service when you are contacted.
#2-#4: Children ages 3 through 5 years. Held during the sermon portion of the Sunday morning worship assembly (10:00 a.m.) Children color, have a short lesson and activity.
#5-#12: Infant, toddler, children’s, and pre-teen Bible school presently held Sunday mornings 9:00-9:45 a.m. A Bible study period is also held on Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00 p.m. Curriculum is provided. #29: Though currently on an extended break, we hope to resume this creative training ministry in the future in coordination with our Youth Ministry. L2L seeks to build spiritual leadership, service, and confidence in young people. Scope of commitment varies with each activity. 2016 will be used to prepare for a L2L restart in 2017. #36-#37: The ministry consists of gatherings of eight to fifteen people mostly meeting in homes. The focus is one-another care and deeper connections through worship, bible study and fellowship. Small Groups meet most Sunday afternoons/evenings. Each group decides its own meeting time. There are two to three terms each year lasting 12 sessions or more. #47: Usually done in the lobby of the Church building before or following the Sunday morning assembly. #48: Pictures are printed in the Church office using the Church’s equipment and materials. #49: These boards are located in the lobby of the church building. Pictures are provided by another volunteer. #50: Teams of volunteers are formed and phone contact is made with guests who attend our worship assemblies. Currently overseen by Bayside deacons. #54: Prayer requests are received and distributed by one of our deacons to volunteers who pray for those concerns on their own time and at their own location. #55: A Bible correspondence course program. Volunteers receive completed courses, grade, and return them. Church takes care of materials/shipping cost. |
#59- #60: There are three support positions related to AV during a worship assembly. Everyone is started on the sound board. If desired, one can then be trained on the video (remote camera movement and recording). The third position is advancing the slides related to the sermon, worship music, or other presentations.
#61: Requires either technical skill with electronics or a willingness to assist someone making a repair. #63: Announcement slides run before and following each worship assembly. These slides need updated on a weekly basis. Volunteers have a monthly commitment. #65: Duplication is done using Church tools. Position requires both operation of the duplicator and creation/printing of CD/DVD labels. Computer skills necessary. #70: An ambassador stays with guests, assisting them with the location of activities, introducing them to people, and answering any questions they may have. #71: Assist attendees to the assembly with umbrella coverage to and from the parking lot on rainy days. #78: Prior to the start of the Sunday morning assembly followed by cleaning and storage afterward. #79: During each worship assembly a typist enters requests retrieved from attendance cards into a database. They then print out a sheet to be distributed. #80: Activity bags hang on the wall outside the auditorium and are used by young children who need activity during the worship assembly. The coordinator would make sure that supplies are kept up-to-date in the bags. #81: Ladies singing group. Performs both in the community and for ill/shut-in congregational members. Regular rehearsals conducted. #83: These are learning sessions for new music that is eventually incorporated into the worship assembly. #87: Replenish the attendance cards and replace/sharpen pencils located in the back of auditorium chairs. #89: Arrange and restock teacher supplies located in the resource room located in rear of the Fellowship Hall. #93: Periodic cleaning of church building carpets using vacuum-like machines provided by the church. #102: Willing to take the city trash cans to the curb once a week on Tuesdays. |
