Great opportunity for a full time preaching and teaching minister with a healthy church of 250 in beautiful Virginia Beach, VA. Our current minister is retiring, and we are looking for the next person God brings to serve with us as a light of love in our community. We are an elder-led, diverse church, filled with servant hearts, in a vibrant region where the military is continually bringing in new families.
Seeking a Christ-centered, experienced preaching minister with strong communication skills. Prefer someone married and family-oriented to relate to a growing core of young families. Also prefer strong people skills and experience with online and multimedia teaching formats.

Preaching Minister Responsibilities
- Preach each week in one or more worship assemblies on Sunday.
- Teach classes on a regular basis in coordination with the elders and the adult education ministry leaders, typically at least one class on Sunday or Wednesday.
- Lead and work with others in planning content, organization, and preparation of worship assemblies.
- Contribute to the planning and development of the adult education program.
- Contribute to planning, leading, and executing activities in support of annual church themes, specifically for 2021 the theme of Discipleship.
- Act as mentor and advisor to the Family and Youth Minister and Children’s Education Director, helping them carry out their responsibilities as defined by the elders.
- Assist in operation of the church office by coordinating as necessary with the administrative assistant.
- Provide pastoral care to the congregation as part of a team with the elders to include providing personal support to people in crises, such as illness, bereavement and family breakdown; and reaching out to those members who are struggling spiritually. Visit the sick and elderly and provide counsel and comfort to individuals and families as necessary.
- Share the good news by conducting Bible studies with individuals.
- Assist the elders with weekly communications to disseminate information to the church.
- Coordinate, host, lead or co-teach Small Groups and develop lesson guides as necessary.
- Produce content for streaming and on-line teaching offerings when necessary.
- Encourage Bayside family members by providing a strong example of Christ-like lifestyle.
