Prime Timers

Who or what is a Prime Timer? There’s prime rib, prime cut, prime rate, and probably lots of other “primes.” But prime timer?

Primarily we are those of the Bayside family who are chronologically mature, that is to say, retirement age and beyond. Although there is no “official” age for participation, “retirement” is considered the general criteria. Prime Timers, then, consists of those who, in this category, meet every other week in the Bayside Fellowship Hall.

The first meeting of the month is “cookie” day. We bring cookies and fix “cookie platters” which, at the conclusion of our meeting, are delivered to various assisted living centers, rehab centers, fire stations, etc., with a Bayside card, to express our appreciation for their service. Before that, though, we sing to our Lord, develop a list of individuals that need prayer, and pass cards around to write notes of encouragement which are mailed to those same individuals.

Sometimes we discuss the previous Sunday’s sermon, or past sermons, and always have a prayer for those on our list. Most times everyone brings a lunch and we share meal time. It is a time of fellowship, sometimes laughter when someone brings something humorous to share, and more importantly, maintaining the bond of our relationship in Christ Jesus.

PRIME TIMERS! Retired but not tired!
